PVT Clean Energy LLC is a start-up company formed in March 2020 with a focus on the commercialization of energy harvesting technologies such as solar and geothermal. Our team consists of professionals from both academia and industry with expertise in renewable energy technologies and entrepreneurship.
Dr. Zadshir is the Co-founder and CEO of PVT. He received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Columbia University in 2021. He has done research on accelerated aging of materials, thermal management in various infrastructure systems, and synthesis of sustainable building composites. He served as the Entrepreneurial Lead for the NSF I-Corps 2020 team, which resulted in forming the "PVT Clean Energy" start-up for the commercialization of the technology.
Dr. Chen is the female co-founder of PVT and serves as the Principal Engineer. She holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University, and has expertise in computational simulation methods such as FVM and FEM. She has also served as the PI and Co-Investigator for various SBIR projects, and brings her abundant experience in SBIR product development and project management to the team.
Dr. Yin is the Technology Advisor of PVT and an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at Columbia University. He is the director of the NSF IUCRC Center of Energy Harvesting Materials and Systems at Columbia Site. Dr. Yin's research areas are energy harvesting technologies, composite materials and structures, and civil infrastructure systems.
Mr. Pao is one of the pioneers to introduce and manufacture building integrated photovoltaic and thermal (BIPVT) systems in the United States, and also a veteran of the semiconductor industry. He is an entrepreneur with more than 30 years of experience, and advises the team on the commercialization process and market strategy study.
